Well well well ladies and gents, The WAFN crew (minus Stormtruper) is headed to Toronto once again to witness what should be pwnage at its very best. This saturday the boys at PP (Pure Pwnage) are releasing a double feature premiere at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto and you better believe we have tickets. There may still be some seats available so I encourage you to go to www.purepwnage.com to order some tickets online and get in on this awesome weekend. Logical, IMTHINKING and I will be hanging out around town all weekend so keep an eye out for us and hopefully we can see some readers at the theatre.

Well faithful readers, this weekend the WAFN crew decided to go to Ottawa to see the year's most anticipated film in IMAX and let me tell you we were NOT disappointed!

To get things started, the story takes off a little while after the ending of Batman Begins. Batman (Christian Bale) and Lieutenant Gordon (Gary Oldman) have teamed up to clean up the streets of Gotham city. After being hammered into submission by Batman, the crime bosses turn to a psychotic newcomer known simply as "The Joker". A man motivated by sheer chaos whose only wish is to watch the world burn. Against such an unstoppable force Batman becomes nearly helpless and must confront what he would need to become to stop this evil.  

The Dark Knight was a non-stop thrill ride that was completely action packed with a psychotic twist in the most pleasurable way. Christian Bale's performance as Batman was yet again something to behold, as well as Aaron Eckhart's portrayal as Gotham city's white knight "Harvey Dent (two-face)", but lets not kid ourselves here....this movie was all about the Joker through and through with Heath Ledger (deservingly) receiving more camera time than the caped crusader himself. Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker left me and the entire WAFN crew at the edge of our seats, open jawed in amazement. His psychotic portrayal was one all his own with such a rich and complete character. Everything from his maniacal laugh to his deliciously evil plots to his subtle but creepy quirks just made the audience completely believe he was a true homicidal maniac. It was a testament to his incredible skill as an actor and the bitter sweet fact that it was his best and sadly last performance of his short life. This movie will keep you guessing from beginning to end with its impossible twists and turns while filling you with excitement from the ridiculous action. I don't want to give away any spoilers so I will just say this...GO SEE THIS MOVIE. I hope I speak for the whole WAFN crew when I say this was one of THE best movies I have ever seen. I give it a 10 out of 10...oh fuck it...I give it a 12 out of 10.

I'm BACK...sorry for the long absence everyone...

Anyways, I have never been a huge Warhammer fan unlike the other members of the WAFN crew but I must say this...This game looks AWESOME. For those of you who don't know, Dawn of War is the PC RTS version of the popular strategy game by Games Workshop called Warhammer 40 000 which centers around outrageously violent battles between various warring races within the 40K universe. The original Dawn of War and its expansions have been retardedly successful and this sequel looks like it may make 40K lovers cream their para-slacks. The visuals in this game will be stunning to say the least and the online play is rumoured to be taking a new direction then what Dawn of War enthusiasts are used to. That's right people, word is that you will be able to play online campaign co-op instead of just regular comp stomp. "RTS co-op....fucking sweet". Not only this but the campaign in general will be much different than your average RTS. Relic, the developers of the game, say that the campaign for Dawn of War 2 will have features that link it more closely to an RPG than an RTS "ala Mass effect". For example, for the space marines you will be in control of the same squad of units for the duration of the game which you can upgrade and add to when needed as well as adding individualized leaders. You will take this squad throughout the 40K universe in a space ship going back and forth from different planets running into optional story sequences "just like the distress signals in Mass Effect, lolz".

This game is not quite near finished but I have to say I am excited to find out more, and hopefully you are too Lolz. Thats all I have for you today faithful readers, feel free to check out the sweet snippet of gameplay I aquired from IGN. Cheers 

Alright people its time this site expanded its resources. We've had a category for Movies that has barely been touched so its time I put my two cents in here.

Today I would like to give you good people a short preview of my summer movie "Must see" list. First off comes what may be my most anticipated movie of the entire year...that's right, The Dark Knight! In this summer blockbuster the dark crusader returns to fight crime in the rotting criminal underworld of Gotham city. After coming down hard on criminals and forcing them into a corner, they turn to the only man insanely brilliant and gruesome enough to take on Batman...they call him The Joker. Lets check out the trailer...ooo, it gives me goose bumps.

Christian Bale reprises his role as Batman alongside Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth and Heath Leger in what I am expecting to be his best performed role yet, and sadly his last as The Joker.

Next we move to a lighter movie that I am also looking forward to with glee. It’s called Tropic Thunder and it is looking like a comedic masterpiece to come. With an all-star cast of Ben Stiller (writer/director), Jack Black, Brandon T. Jackson, Jay Baruchel and Robert Downy Jr. as an actor who turns himself black for a role...LOLz. The story is something like Platoon on acid..lol. A group of actors thinks they are shooting a Vietnam war movie but in fact the director has secretly dropped them in the jungle to fend for themselves...the only problem is they still think they are filming, lol. This movie should have audiences ROFLing in the theatre. Here's the trailer.

I know I know, by now everyone knows that Gears 2 is on its way, but I couldn't live with myself if I didn't mention it on my own site. So, I'm making this my first in a series of Gears updates as more news develops, I'll make sure to fill our faithful viewers in.

Anyways, let’s get down to business. As we all should know, Gears of War, an Xbox 360 and PC exclusive, is the epic gore fest following Marcus Fenix and Delta squad's fight against the unstoppable Locust Horde. This November we will be getting right back into the fight with what Epic Games is saying will be "even bigger, better, and more badass experience than the first game". That means better graphics, more blood, more explosions, a more expansive storyline and best of all...more chainsaws. Sadly not much has been released yet in terms of the story for Gears 2, but it is supposed to begin shortly after where the first game left off. Humanity has achieved an apparent victory be destroying the Locust's Hive far beneath the city, but the Locust are not finished yet...they are just pissed off.

That's all I can say at this point, but I will fill our readers in as more info becomes available. In fact, if you have any info that we might not know about, feel free to share with us. To cap things off, here are some screenshots I was able to find showing off some Gears 2 locations and what is either a drunken Hobbo armed to the teeth lolz or who I think is Marcus Fenix's badass father who was mentioned in the first game, but never made an appearance. Oh and here's a little video showcasing some of the new features on Gears 2.

"Holy lack of posts Batman!", sorry for the recent delays everyone, but we are all busy with the horror known as exams...u kno, and if you don't, thank jesus that ur so lucky. ANYWAYS...

You may all be aware of the dreaded RROD (red ring of death) that has plagued a lot of Xbox 360 owners and pwners alike...I now consider it a right of passage if someone truly wants to pwn lolz. I am certain that a lot of annoying ass PS3 fanboys have heard of it because that's all I ever hear is "360 sucks, RROD, blah blah blah, I live with my parents and fead off breast milk, etc" you kno, the usual. BUT, it seems that Sony has a few skeletons in their closet that they have been trying to keep on the hush hush. Code 80010514 is its name...doesn't exactly role off the tongue like RROD lol, but my point remains. Code 80010514 is something that should strike fear into the hearts of all PS3 owners because it pretty much means game over for them....I don't think Sony has a 3 year extended warranty... This system error seems to signify that the Blu-ray drive has gone "tits up" as stormtruperTK41's professor would put it, and will no longer function. This is not a new phenomenon either, this problem has been there, right since day one but has been downplayed by Sony. Say what you will about Microsoft, but at least they made good on their mistake. My only hope is that this will help bring harmony back to the console wars so that I can stop hearing all this bitching about the RROD from the fanboys out there...We all have our problems now...Deal with it, lolz

That's right ladies and gentlemen its over...no more fluffiness and gum drops, now we have skin tight leather and oozing blood. You all should remember Teletoon, a television network devoted to showing nothing but cartoons. Well I remember in the begining the most horrific thing shown on Teletoon was maggie and the ferocious beast. BUT, what should happen while I was channel surfing yesterday? Well, I came across this little gem playing on Teletoon called "Heavy Metal 2000 aka Heavy Metal FAKK 2", a gorey sexually charged sci-fi that seems to have no plot to it at all, but does feature Billy Idol's voice acting...LoLz. So what did I do?.....I watched, lol. Scene after scene of hot naked anime chicks, spaceship battles, gallons of blood and guts, mild rape, a 3 foot high rock gollum that doesn't say or do much (lolz) and to top it all off...a lizard man gladiator duel over a pit of lava. TAKE THAT COEN BROTHERS! So as I was sitting there trying to figure out what was going on  I thought to myself "everything  is proceeding as I have forseen" (Star wars quote). The transition is complete and society has finally moved to a glorious new level of depravety, and I for one LoL'd.

OOO, my first post on the new site. Snazy! I hope you all didn't miss me too much.

Anyways...Thats right, you heard me. In three more days the already amazing and almost sexual COD4 universe will be expanded with 4 new multiplayer maps..thats right, FOUR!!! The downloadable pack will take a little detour from what we are used to on the COD4 multiplayer. No more middle eastern deserts and the depressing Ukrainian ruins of Chernobyl (sorry Jerry). This time we get to see brand new locals that are quite diverse. The first map is called "Broadcast", a map closely based off of the single player level in the Iraqi TV station.

This tightly packed office with plenty of desks to jump behind should make for some intense close range combat. As you can see, airstrikes and helis won't do much in this map, but there are some exposed sections you can access such as the roof and the parking lot which has a new smaller building incorporated into it. The second map on our list is called "Creek", it is an entirely new map that is of huge proportions. This massive map has a very rocky look. There are high revines, cliffside pathways and there si even a tunnel that runs through the base of the hill.

This expansive map will make for exciting mid-to-long range battles and will most certainly be incorporated into the Groundwar playlist for 9v9 team deathmatches and Domination. The third map is called "Chinatown", it takes place in the low-lit downtown chinese market of San Fransico. Players will get to battle it out in a more urban and familiar area and have the added difficulty of darkness to worry about (put on those night vision goggles).

This map will be good for an all around experience, for anything from deathmatch to search and destroy. Our fourth and final map for this DLC was called a "bonus" map from the developers and its is interesting to say the least. It is called "Killhouse" and anyone who has even attempted to play the COD4 single player will recognize this little gem. It is heavily based off of the training room set up in the hanger where you first run into your S.A.S. buddies.
